Galaga Clone
Date of Completion: 04/05/2018
The Galaga Clone was my first ever ever project working with Unity, as well as the Unreal engine to compare which one would develop the most/least effectively. We were tasked with developing a 2D space game similar to the original Namco Galaga game. I took the liberty in naming my version "Alien Extinction". The game itself consists of one space ship with a certain number of lives 3 different weapon classes, to unleash on incoming enemies and meteors. The choice of weapons was the standard laser, missile and a pink super wave to destroy anything in it's path.
I gained alot of experience with this project between both engines, demonstrating the possibility in making the same game from a variation of ways. I found that Unity worked more in my favour when it came to understanding the programming side, where as the design elements of Unreal were more reliable and had ease of use. The use of Bluepirint (C++) was alot to comprehend, where as Unity and C# worked as a stronger candidate to develop.
